Introduction
I am now in second year, I'm super excited to be on campus and meet new people. My goal this semester is to achieve a grade to my best ability and learn new skills, such as collaborating new ideas with my peers in group projects. I also want to enhance my skills in areas of filming and editing this semester. My goal this year is not to leave assignments to "last minute" and try and balance college work and social life.
Last year was bittersweet, as I made new friends it was a bummer I wasn't on campus due to covid. The modules I relished last semester was Design Process and Practice and Image Production. I got to learn learn several new skills for instance how to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshopped software. My biggest accomplished last semester was creating a movie poster for "Avatar the last Airbender" and information leaflet for CMD. I found it challenging trying to figure out the new illustrator software, but with determination and hard work I eventually adjusted.
What are my goals? Well, I would like to work for a Network either editing ,filming, or presenting would be my long-term goal, but for now it is to work hard in order to achieve that goal. Most importantly I would like to be happy and healthy.

Over the break I did a large amount of travelling. In the month of June I went to Belfast twice with my friends and then in July/August I went to Spain, Cork in August and finally Berlin in September. I really enjoy my summer spending time with family and friends. I also did a lot of partying too!
If someone was to go through my Spotify playlist they would see how diverse my music taste is. I like to listen to pop, indie, hip-hop, musicals and R&B.
In my past time I love practicing singing and playing my piano. I always had an interest in music from a small age. I do plenty of songwriting and creating music and maybe I could implement it into project I created in this years semester.

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and say hello to my pal in college! Love the blog layout and style and one question, when am I going to hear this singing and piano playing? I've been waiting a year! Delighted we are in college face to face this year and can experience the proper college life. Who knows we might get some group project work this year again and hopefully we will do as well as before!

Also I know you're an unreal singer but didn't know you played piano! I need to hear this asap.
So glad we're in college in person this year so we get to have some fun and enjoy it.

I agree with you that design process and image manipulation were up there with the best modules last semester, and I hope you succeed this semester in not leaving things till the last minute hahah. Hey Alex! loved the intro, nice to get to know you more. I went to Belfast over the summer too, It's really nice. I'm going to Berlin next summer so can't wait for that. Design Process was a great module so here's hoping Visual Design is just as good.

ReplyDeleteI love your introduction and relate to how everything was last year. I felt we all did extremely well to progress through first year despite the fact that we had to do everything online and that we should all be proud of ourselves. I'm really envious of you to be honest. I know not leaving things to the last minute makes life so much easier, I thought DPP and Image Production would have been hard but once I was doing it realized it was easier than thought. I would love to play the piano. I'm a guitar person myself. Also, happy and healthy is deffo a #1 priority

Heyy Alex, Your introduction is great really loved learning more about you. Totally understand that horrid feeling of leaving assignments till the last minute , but like you I have decided to change that and work on them a little at a time. Last year was a bummer not being able to be on campus, we've missed out on a whole year of college life on campus. All is not lost, we will all make the most of the next 3 years we have left. I think you would do great in filmmaking its an area that I love to delve more into as well. It's great that you managed to go away and travel to a few places over the summer, it was well needed. Hope you had lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteHi Alex I really like your blog post it seems quite detailed. I felt the same about not being able to go in the campus last year it wasn't that great of a situation. I'm the same as you wear I just learned illustrator and photo shop in first year as well which is cool. It's also quite cool that you can play piano.
